NGS S19 Division A Preview

By Ruglord

Came From Behind returns to div A. With not a single Hogger/Blaze game last season, they are easily the most honorable offlaners in the league. They come seeking vengeance: after a dominant, first place finish in the regular season, they were upset by 8th place team and eventual division runner-up Winter is Coming; I guess Winter ambushed from behind. With Woot joining the team, Came From Behind looks to KeepOnAhead this season.

Can’t Pause Wont Pause comes to Div A after a successful Div B season, ending with a solid 4th place finish in the regular season and advancing to winner’s finals before losing to eventual division winner Gen.M Esports. With new players bankai and MyPalShade, both long-time players, Can’tPauseWon’tPause may just have the sauce to reignite their momentum.

Focus your focals on Fancy Flightless Fowl who, formed by new friends, find themselves fiending for fist fights in faction A. I find it feasible for these fellows to pick Falstad, Fenix, and … funk that’s it. Finally, we finna see if they finish first or ff for next season.

Long-time high-div team Gen.M Esports begin a new generation of NGS, coming off a decisive first place finish in Div B East. Now they return to the familiar lands of Div A. Are they still the A-tier team, or are they just b-easts of burden (sorry man they can’t all be bangers).

Next is gillyShark at !Bingo night, a team that never fails to gaslight me with that exclamation mark placement. I swear it changes every time I look at the name. What does not change though is their placement as they are no strangers to the high-level play of div A. Coming off a solid, 4th place placement last season, they’ve come to play HOTS and fill bingo boards … and they’re seemingly never out of bingo boards.

Magnitude: Epicenter epically enter as a returning div A team. They embody the very forces of the Earth itself, finishing 7th but upsetting the mighty 2nd seed Gambit Gaming in the playoffs. Sadly, even elemental earth is subject to the toil of the modern workday, as Magnitude was ultimately fracked by @9-5. Not quite fossil fuel yet, Magnitude roars back to fix the fault in their previous season!

Points Donation Squad is a generous, humanitarian organization formed by long-time NGS veterans, such as ThaDuke and RobotWizard. Built on foundational ideas of equality and points as a human right, PDS works to build a better, healthier, and more equitable environment for all. In their presence, everyone from the lowliest bronze to the 90% winrate Dehaka abusers will deserve their fair share of points. Please sponsor PDS today, and you too can help boost a silver Valla one-trick.

Long-time “West Coast Best Coast” team Spooky Ghosts makes their Div A debut. They have been all around the NGS globe, mainly in Div B, but had a one-season div C dip, before finishing strong with a 2nd place finish in Div B. I’ve fought them personally and I can tell you, Spooky Ghosts always bring the plays. I think their captain also likes black sesame ice cream, which you already know is the opinion of a man with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

The High Inquisitors make their div A debut after a 2nd place finish in the Div B East regular season. I sure as hell don’t know what to expect this season, with their roster additions of veterans ppWolo and aaron. But perhaps that’s their greatest weapon, since no one expects the high inquisition!

With a bachelor’s in logistics and master’s in lane rotations, veteran high-level team Under Newb Management returns with new plans for a better Div A. They hope to rearrange the standings for higher efficiency, prioritize points placing throughput, and engage in strategic enemy-team layoffs, ensuring every game ends with only the 5 most important players on the field.
