Drunkdwarfs Guide to BM in HotS

Note: This is satire and should only be done in the safety of friendly scrims or to people in QM who BM you first. Seriously, don’t take this as permission to do this in NGS games or we will have to, A. Refer it to Disciplinary for being unsportsmanlike and B. I will personally make fun of you with sarcastic/snide gifs and comments in Discord. – Sincerely your Jaxster37

Hello NGS community! I dont know many things for certain, but what I do know is that we are all here playing in NGS because of one thing, to prove that we are better than other strangers on the internet at a dead videogame.

Luckily for us, Heroes of the Storm has a wide variety of ways to flaunt your dominance over the enemy team. From taunts to b-stepping to sprays, you have multiple options at any given time to how you want to BM, but not all BM is created equally. Some methods of BM are clearly objectively better than others and some methods of BM are not even known to the majority of the player base. So today, I will be making a tierlist of every way to BM in HotS.

Starting us off at…

C Tier

Sprays

Arguably the weakest way to BM, sprays just aren’t antagonizing enough to really tilt your opponents. On top of this, they have an internal cooldown of 3 seconds so they arent even spammable. Definite C tier.

Dancing

The effectiveness of using dancing as a BM tool varies widely from hero to hero. You have some top tier dances like Abathur’s above but the majority of heroes have pretty bland dances. So I’m putting dancing in C tier.

Quick tip: Vehicles can dance! Try it with the Triglav or Dragon Knight instead of pushing.

Z Cancelling

This one is a fun one to spam. To do it, simply spam Z and S, alternating between the two. The animation is slightly lackluster but the particles it shoots off are kind of cool. All in all though, it’s not going to tilt anyone so i’m keeping it here in C tier.

B Tier

Taunting

Taunting is a surefire way to let the opponent know that you play the video game more than them and it is a great way to show off all your hard earned one-trickery. The effectiveness of taunting scales linearly with your taunt mastery level. For level 15, I would rate it as D tier, 25 as C tier, 50 as B tier, 75 as A tier and 100 as S tier. To judge taunting in its entirety, I will give it the average of these rankings which lands taunting in B tier.

Nexus Bouncing

I love this one. Theres just something about this BM that just screams “Wow this guy is a fucking asshole”. Definitely tilt inducing, but can only be done at the very end of the match and for that, I give it a B tier.

A Tier

Dance Cancelling

If you’ve been dancing as your preferred way to BM, you need to stop immediately and start dance cancelling. The animation stuttering is hilarious for some heroes and it’s a sure way to tilt your enemy opponents. To do this, simply spam dance and stop (default Y and S), alternating between the two. Solid A Tier option.

B Stepping

The HotS equivalent to a tea bag, B-stepping is the universal method of BM for most people. Always a solid option in any situation so I’m putting it at the top of A tier.

S Tier

Auto Cancelling

Coming in as the only method that made it to S tier, I give auto cancelling my pick for the king of all BM. Similar to the dance cancel, auto cancelling has a hilarious animation. Coupled with audio spam and immense big dick energy, the auto cancel will definitely tilt your opponents and earn you the title of most toxic player in the game. To do it, you first need to issue an attack command to a nearby target with A click, then hold down right click and stay moving near the target, then spam S over and over to stutter your auto attack animation.

A -> left click (if not quick cast) -> right click (hold down) -> walk around target -> S spam

Honorable Mention

Now get out there and be the toxic player you’ve always wanted to be.
